BTO Syndrome

This is just too good to keep to myself. Recently I was corresponding with an old friend who is a fabulous guitarist/singer/songwriter/musician-in-general. He goes by the name of Duke Davis and you can check his stuff out here. Anyway...in his email he was telling me about playing in a Athens, GA cover band and that he suffered from BTO syndrome. Naturally I asked him what BTO syndrome was, and he kindly replied:

BTO syndrome: a nebulous affliction I first noticed when I saw Bachman Turner Overdrive opening for Van Halen (I was 13). It's a condition that old fart rock musicians find themselves afflicted with, usually recognized when you're rocking out on stage and realize you're at least twice the age of the oldest audience member and perhaps you should have stayed home and repainted the garage. I've felt it myself. Very painful, and causes potentially fatal damage to the ego. In some cultures, it's viewed as a cure.
